Setup & troubleshooting
Can an EA run on MT5 mobile or the web terminal?
The desktop MetaTrader environment is where MQL5 Expert Advisors are installed and executed. A phone is useful for checking the account, but opening its trading app is not the same as hosting the EA program.
Give each device a clear job
Use a desktop terminal or suitable hosted environment for the EA. Use the mobile account view to inspect positions and account state. Closing the phone app does not normally stop an EA running on another machine.
Install where execution happens
Copy the delivered EA into the correct desktop terminal’s data folder. If you have several broker terminals, open the data folder from the intended terminal rather than guessing a directory from a shortcut name.
Coordinate manual actions
An EA may respond to a position that you close or change from your phone. Understand whether it can reopen, replace stops or manage all positions on a symbol. Manual intervention and automation share the same account state.
Start with the supplied route
MQLume packages include installation documentation so you can locate the right files and settings. Pick a simple desktop setup first; add remote monitoring when you know which terminal is responsible for execution.
