VPS ping versus execution time: why the numbers differ

A VPS helps keep a terminal available without depending on your laptop’s sleep state or home connection. Its network round trip to the broker is only one component of the path from a signal to a completed trade.

Measure the useful interval

Compare the EA’s decision timestamp with its request and completion records where available. Keep all clocks in the same time basis. Network ping, terminal workload and broker processing are different measurements.

Choose for the actual broker server

A server geographically close to you is not necessarily close to the trading server. Check latency to the exact account server and allow enough memory for the terminals and charts you actually run.

Try a controlled move

Use the same EA build and inputs before and after migration. Record uptime, missing ticks, request errors and timing. Do not attribute a profitable or losing day solely to a small ping change when market conditions also changed.

Use VPS as infrastructure

Stable hosting supports an automated workflow; it does not create a trading edge. At MQLume, start with the installation guide and your selected EA’s requirements, then choose hosting that supports those requirements.
