Setup & troubleshooting
Send EA notifications to your phone without flooding it
A useful notification tells you that something changed: an order was rejected, a position closed or a data connection recovered. Sending the same status every tick makes an alert channel harder to use and can hit platform limits.
Connect the destination
SendNotification uses the MetaQuotes IDs configured in the terminal Notifications settings. Its documented limits are 255 characters per message, no more than 2 calls per second and 10 calls per minute. It does not operate in the Strategy Tester.
Test outside the tester
Use the terminal notification test with your own device, then a small non-trading demo script. Confirm that the message arrives on the intended phone. A successful send return and a notification visibly received are two separate observations.
Design the alert rule
An illustrative rejection alert could contain strategy name, symbol, time and return code, followed by a cooldown. Do not include passwords, complete account identifiers or unnecessary account balances. Keep the detailed diagnostic record in the local log.
Ask AI for transitions
Request notifications only when the state moves from connected to disconnected or from a pending request to a confirmed failure. Include a recovery message and a configurable interval. This keeps the phone useful while retaining enough context to investigate later.
